Nancy Krahl |
Nancy has a passion for nursing and for sharing that passion for nursing with her students. Her areas of interest include maternal-newborn, women's health and community health nursing. She has a special interest in camp nursing as well. She has served on the Board of Association of Camp Nurses where she helped develop the Standards of Practice for Camp Nurses. She has provided area and regional workshops on camp nursing and currently serves on the Research Committee of the Association of Camp Nurses. One of her most inspiring teaching experiences has been a summer elective in Camp Nursing. For the past 20 summers, Saint Luke's College of Health Sciences has partnered with Camp M.I.T.I.O.G. (Made in the Image of God), a camp for children with spina bifida. Nancy, along with her students and camp nursing staff provide health promotion, education, and care for these special campers in a week long residential camp setting . It has been rewarding to see graduates who have taken this elective return as R.N.'s to assist in this camp and, also, with other special needs camps throughout the greater Kansas City area.
