Jane Hedrick |
Jane Hedrick has been a faculty member of Saint Luke’s College since 1997. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 1975; her Master’s in Nursing from University of Missouri- Kansas City in 1992 and her PhD in Nursing from University of Missouri – Kansas City in 2003. The focus of her career in nursing education has been in maternal-child and community health nursing. Dr. Hedrick was named the 2001 AWHONN/Johnson & Johnson Pediatric Institute Marshall Klaus Mother/Baby Researcher. This award supported her dissertation research entitled: “The Lived Experience of Pregnancy While Carrying a Child with a Congenital Abnormality;” the findings of which were published in the Journal of Obstetric, Gynecological and Neonatal Nursing. Dr. Hedrick is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and AWHONN and has been an active member of Saint Luke’s Hospital’s Nursing Research Council since 1993. Her interests in nursing education focus on the areas for innovative learning environments and clinical simulation.
