Dean L. Hubbard Ph.D.
Prior to his appointment at Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences, Hubbard served 25 years as president of Northwest Missouri State University. Under his tenure, the university was a four-time winner of the Missouri Quality Award and the 1996 winner of the National Association of College and University Business Officers Higher Education Award. He was a founding member of the board of the Excellence in Missouri Foundation and in 1998 received the Missouri Governor’s Quality Leadership Award. Under Hubbard’s leadership, Northwest implemented its “Culture of Quality” plan to improve the quality of all aspects of the institution’s operations.

Dr. Hubbard was appointed to the U.S. Department of Education’s Advisory Council on education statistics and served as a member of the American Council on Education’s Commission on leadership Development. He has evaluated 30 colleges and universities for accreditation on three continents, consulting to educational institutions in Asia, Eastern and Western Europe and Central America.
As President, Dr. Hubbard will lead Saint Luke’s College of Health Science, a leading educational institution for preparing professionals in the healing arts. Hubbard possesses the leadership, knowledge and understanding of the needs, mission and future opportunities for Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences. Celebrating more than a century of high quality nursing education, program expansion is on the horizon as Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences aspires to reach a combined enrollment of 500 students in multiple disciplines by 2016.
Dr. Hubbard has earned degrees from Stanford University (Ph.D. Administration and Policy Analysis); Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea (Korean Language); and Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan (BA and MA). Hubbard is internationally recognized for his work in the field of total quality management. He has written and edited, or contributed to more than a dozen books and has published over 20 articles on the topic of quality.
