Saint Luke’s College Board of Directors has named Dr. James Hauschildt as the new Academic Dean for Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences.
Dr. Hauschildt comes to the College with an extensive background in nursing that includes service as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He has taught undergraduate and graduate nursing at Allen College, Waterloo, Iowa and is an expert in Medical Informatics. He has consulted to Cerner Corporation on the design of electronic medical storage systems and trained doctors in the use of this emerging technology. As Director of Applied Clinical Informatics Education at Dell Corporation, Dr. Hauschildt managed an innovative, inter-disciplinary education and training program for a national, 49 hospital, IDN healthcare organization.
As Academic Dean, Dr. Hauschildt will lead Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences in program expansion as Saint Luke’s College aspires to reach a combined enrollment of 500 students in multiple disciplines by 2016.
Dr. Hauschildt has earned degrees from the University of Northern Iowa (EdD –Education Curriculum and Instruction and BA-Psychology); Webster University (MA –Business Management); and University of Kansas (BSN). Dr. Hauschildt began his appointment as Academic Dean of Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences on June 1.
